The Itch Website 2.0

The Itch Website 2.0

When you type “Itch Creatives” into a search engine, our old website used to be the first thing you’ll find. It was often the first introduction people got to who we are, what we do, and how we work. But we realized that it no longer reflected who we’ve become. So, we took on the task of creating a new one—one that represented our team better.

BEFORE THE CHANGE

Our previous website had served us well for years, and it had become a time capsule of sorts. It provided a general overview of Itch as a company—our work, our values, and our story—but we’ve grown so much in size and experience through the years that it couldn’t really keep up.

It was then that Sir Armand Sazon, our Founder and Managing Director, and Jervic Perlas, our Head of New Business Development, decided that it would benefit the team to refocus the purpose of the website and maximize its full potential.

Instead of moving things around and overhauling our previous site, we decided to make a new one entirely from scratch. In Jervic’s words, it’s easier to build a beautiful birdhouse from the ground up than to tear down the old house and repurpose its materials to make something else. (It was the right choice too, turns out our old website developer has already closed down! 😅)

For this new start, the vision was clear. While the old one mostly showcased Itch’s culture and community, this one aims to also highlight what Itch can do for you. (Yes, you!)

We are putting the spotlight on our services, our clients, and our previous works—a move to help give you an idea of what we can do together!

GETTING STARTED

As expected, the decision to start from zero proved to be quite a challenge. We had our Creative Director Audrey Orallo and Creative Lead Angie Cruz set the creative directions for the website, keeping in mind the functionalities we wanted and our brand personality. But this was the easy part.

Itch Creatives is an advertising agency, NOT a web design team. So in terms of building the actual site, we were in mostly uncharted territory. To bridge this knowledge gap, we partnered up with experts who can take the lead.

Enter Asceoft Incorporated, an IT Consulting Agency we’ve previously partnered with for client projects. With their help, we were able to get things running. They guided us through the whole process, holding our hands as we navigated through coding language, UX/UI considerations, and platform familiarization.

It took a lot of different perspectives and multiple pivots to build our site into a page that we were satisfied with. While it was second nature for us to lock in on what we wanted design-wise, we needed extra help in choosing which functions to add, where to put which elements, and how to make sure that the user experience is as seamless as it can be.

This project felt more personal because the clients… were us! We had to stumble on a bunch of learning curves and trial-and-errors from both sides. The process was more challenging than we expected, but we’re extremely grateful for our partner suppliers who helped us map the course.

FILLING THE CUP

With the direction locked in and the working website up and running, it was time for our creatives to step up and fill in the blanks—this meant adding in icons, banners, articles, social media samples, and other elements to spruce up the page.

The Itch Content Plan team, led by Creative Leads Lui Milanes and Hazel Perez, stepped in to oversee the nitty-gritty of the site’s development. Our Accounts team, Gabē Peralta and Felice de Guzman, also managed the project and collaborated with our suppliers throughout the whole process.

Hazel said her favorite part of working on this project was seeing the Itches collaborate and adapt with a task that was unfamiliar to most of us. We’re used to doing content for social media but this time we had to do it for a platform with new requirements and dimensions that we all needed time to learn and adjust to. But it sure was worth it!

What sets our new content apart from the previous website is that we’re crafting it with a more specific audience in mind. We used to write primarily for ourselves and our community, which is why the copy leaned more casual and informal. But with the website’s renewed purpose, we wanted to shift our perspective and share our work as an agency more consciously.

Finding the right balance can be tricky, but the team behind the website is also the same team that works on our social media content, so they already have a good grasp of Itch’s voice and style online.

So don’t worry! We’re still as fun and authentic as ever—we’re just more intentional about how we express ourselves, making sure the website feels welcoming to anyone who might be meeting Itch for the first time.

MOVING FORWARD

Seeing our new website come to life has truly been fulfilling. It’s now the digital portfolio we wanted it to be, showcasing the creative works we pour all our heart and passion into as boldly authentic creatives. Over the coming years, we will be continuously updating the website with not only our internal updates and wins but also more client projects we have yet to reveal.

Jervic shares his hopes that viewers of the website will see it as a digital extension of our culture and capabilities—whether they’re brand people looking to partner with us, young creatives who want to work for us, or even the Itches who just want to gain a better appreciation of the work that we’ve been doing.
